About Me

Being trusted with someone’s story is a privilege.

I have learned that therapy isn’t a clinical strategy. It is about a human connection born of a genuine relational depth that allows for true exploration.

Hi, I’m Dana

My role isn’t to fix you. It’s to sit with you and support you as you share and explore thoughts, feelings, and life challenges.

My passions are improving the quality of our relationships with ourselves and with others and being out in nature. This is where I breathe, reflect and feel the inner peace that I need.

My time is split between two things I love: counselling private clients in-person at my practice in Torquay, Devon, and online and also supervising other counsellors as they grow in their own practice. Both come down to the same belief, that being truly heard, without judgement, changes things.

“Being trusted with someone’s story is a privilege I’ve never taken for granted, and never will.”

How I work

I'm an integrative therapist, which is a way of saying I won't squeeze you into one method. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches and shape our sessions around you.

I draw a lot from lived experience, too. Balancing work, home and a long marriage while raising children teaches you plenty about resilience and repair. When I'm not working, you'll usually find me walking my dog by the sea. 🤍

A bit of my story

  • A year in primary care at a GP surgery, walking with clients through loss, bereavement, depression, anxiety, infertility and relationship difficulties.
  • Volunteering with Children & Families in Grief, supporting bereaved families in their own homes.
  • Mentoring professionals in their career challenges, addressing issues such as anxiety, imposter syndrome and workplace stress.
  • And, as a qualified clinical supervisor, I’m now also trusted to support other counsellors in their own practices, something I find as meaningful as the client work itself. Supervision →
